The 28 rooms and suites are decorated in individual wallpaper (ours was neutral striped) but all are spacious for London – and luxurious too, with beautiful heavy drapes and eclectic antique furniture. Meanwhile, marble bathrooms boast their own televisions and are generously stocked with upscale Floris toiletries, slippers, and fluffy bathrobes. Fresh fruit, mineral water, Nespresso coffee, and candles at turndown come as standard.

The Town House is a large former hotel property built in 1929 on Wilshire Boulevard, adjacent to Lafayette Park in the Westlake district of Los Angeles, California. After a long career as a hotel it operates today as low income housing. The property is also pet-friendly – there’s a pet concierge on hand to cater to your pooch’s needs and a very popular doggy afternoon tea.
